Wow, it's so sad that I have neglected my blog. After a long time on travel and unexpectantly starting an RN program, (earlier than planned) it seems I have no free time. So, just want to give everyone the heads up. If you wonder where I am, I'm probably in class, studying, or being a mom. But, I'm not calling it quits, just taking a break from my designing right now. I'm still hoping to stay invloved with the Shutterfly Gallery. So, that's that.. now it's out there for any one wondering.

Well, I'm just ramping up for our big trip. I'm very excited and having a little anxiety due to all of the things on my mind right now. I've completed Kache's book. It was such a fun book to work on. orking on another one for a friend. Should be done shortly after I return.

We're Back and Shutterflly News

We're back, hurray, my husband and I had such a fun time in Cincinnati. And a big thanks to his parents for watching our kids while we were gone. It was such a treat to go away with just the two of us.

This summer's packed for our family. In a couple of weeks, the kids and I are off to Utah to visit family and friends. I will try my hardest to check in, but who knows what the trip will bring.

For now, I am so excited. I'm featured on Shutterfly's Community Home Page. How cool is that? I was so happy when I found out. I love being a member of the Gallery Guru Team, the community at Shutterfly has created so many wonderful books.

Hello, I'm a cute little girl and I need a name. Any suggestions? Read on to hear more about me and my brother.

UPDATE: We decieded on a name for her, it's Mali. It's the Siamese name for Jasmine.

The other day the kids and I were out running errands. We were near the Animal Shelter so we stopped in on a whim. We had been there a number of times before, actually that is where we got our cat Meiko 4 years ago. But this time, we spotted 2 little loves that caught my attention. They were 2 siamese kittens. One boy & one Girl. We had to wait 3 days until they were available for adoption. I put it in the back of my mind, but the kids remembered and I was suprised that my husband didn't seem to mind. So, on Friday we went down to see them. It was apparent they belonged together, and how could I chose which one had to stay at the city shelter? Each of the kids wanted one of their own, so we adopted them both.

When I was a child, I actually had 2 Siamese kittens. One boy & one girl that came to me on their own. One a neighbor brought home and was not allowed to have. She was Lily, and was fluffier and had lighter markings.Mistakenly my Mom found a little boy wandering in the rain 2 days later. She thought he was my Lily and brought him home. I named him Lucky. He was darker and thinner.

Here is a photo of Lucky taken later when he was older. It's not the best photo granted it was taken in the 80's with a toy film camera. lol

I don't remember what happened to Lily, but I do remember that Lucky had been piosioned and it broke my heart when he died in my arms.

I am now starting to sense that these little kittens might be the reincarnated past friends of my childhood. I jokingly said this earlier today. However, after reviewing photos that my daughter took, my heart stopped when I saw one of the new little girl curled up in my old childhood blanket, the same one that Lily slept in.

Here's an old photo I just found of Lily She's much older than a kitten here. In the back is the Blue & white pillow that goes to my old blanket that our new girl was snuggled in.

So here are the new kitties.

Our son named the boy Ciaro and we are still deciding on a name for the girl.

Any suggestions? We'd like an Egyptian female name.

Aren't their markings similar? I know of course they are because they are Siamese, but even the females have the white noses and tan around the eyes. LOL, I just think that the whole "flash back" to my child hood has been fun to think of. I hope that our kiddos will have just as much fun with these 2 babies as I did.

Meiko, our 4 year old cat, isn't happy at all about the addition. He won't even come inside. I spend extra time with him and really the kids are the ones who have played with the kittens. But, he's not happy and isn't shy in letting us know. I hope he'll get over it. He has in the past and is now best friends with Autumn, the little stray who comes around.

Okay, well, I'm done rambling... If you've read this far, thanks. I'll let you know when we select a name.

The Nature of Things

So as I sat down at my desk just now I was greeted by a quick and nasty little, actually rather big, black stink bug. The clever critter crawled down behind the back of my desk before I could get him. And Summer begins... bugs everywhere, the June bugs have been banging against my window the past few nights. At first I wasn't sure what the noise was, then after taking a peak I realized that June is fast approaching. However, that doesn't mean the weather is being friendly, we had to cover our tomatoes that we just planted in the garden. It is supposed to frost tonight. This lead to a rather unfortunate event in our evening.

Our kitty, Meiko, had his eye on something in our Raspberry Patch. My hubby was cheering him on thinking it was a small bug or something of that nature. Turns out, our domesticated cat transformed before all of our eyes into a wild feline. Much to the dismay of all of us, including the two small kiddos, we were met with terrible screams of death. Yes, Meiko had attacked a small baby rabbit, and in case you've never heard a rabbit scream, I will assure you , they do scream and it sounds horrible. He dropped it once while running from us and our screams to let it go ( I'm sure this was by mistake). Bunny darted back into the bushes, but Meiko prevailed and ended up with Rabbit Stew for his dinner. The chase however wasn't over until we chased our cat towards the house and the little bugger used his kitty door into the garrage as an escape. It was quite the horrible scene. our daughter was crying, our son didn't seem to care much; and the poor bunny was done. A few hours later I spied out and he was finished, belly full, and sharing the remains with Autumn, a sweet little country-drop-off, that we've adopted as our own. Here are some photos of what I believe might have been one of the bunnies. Poor things, we found them 2 weeks ago when I was mowing the lawn. I thought at that time that I had killed one or two, they all came bounding out of their burrow. The kids and I gathered them and after doing some internet research returned them to their den. They out grew it and moved out a week ago. This leads me to suspect that Meiko's dinner was once a snuggly bunny that they held. I guess this is just the nature of things; The circle of life, so they say.

So, on another note, I am working away on another Shutterfly book. I have created some paper packs that will include freebies, I just won't have time to get them loaded into the shop and on 4shared for a few more days. So, check back in a few. Take care , Amy

Treasure Cake

So we had Bri's Pirate Party, and it was a Blast! Here are some pictures. I was so happy that the other adults dressed up with me as a pirates.

You can rest assured that I will have a pirate kit available in the near future.

Sandi - my closest friend- and Me, along with Mr. Orlando Bloom lol. We had these card board pirates for the party, it was fantastic. LOL

Bri thinking about something.... I think we were singing to him and all he wanted to do was blow out the candles and eat some cake. - I made 2 partly because they looked so fun to make and second because we had many guests at the party.

Hubby Bringing the Treasure back to the ship. The kids went on a treasuer hunt and found this chest full of goodies. I found the chest at Michaels for 50% off = $20 what a deal. Bri LOVES it and now uses it as a toy box of sorts.

You might be wondering where I've been lately. Besides from enjoying the beautiful sunshine, I've been working on a few other things.
First, don't know if I told you all that I was selected to be a member of the Shutterfly Gallery Guru Team. It's a new group of gals who's main goal is to help out any members who have questions about scrapbooking. So, I've been doing a little bit with that. The team is really new and still underway as far as having an official page on Shutterfly. But if you poke around you'll be able to see the members by their signatures. Here's the link to one of my books on SF. I really need to add another book, just how the time flies, don't know when it'll be possible.

Great News, I'm now selling my designs at Erika's Digital Scrapbook We're in the process of adding my products to the store, it might take a couple of days. Until then, I will leave the Boutique open. Check back soon, because I've already created some new kits that I will post a freebie to once they are up and available at Erika's.

So, I took the kids again to the Butterfly Garden. My daughter and I both got to hold one little guy. He was a beautiful blue color, but in the photos, he wouldn't open his wings. Little Stinker! LOL. We're going back tomorrow, -yes, again... I know. We're going with some friends and also they have a wonderful outdoors play garden for the kids. My son LOVES their tree house. The other day I took the kids to the Butterfly exhibit at Meijer Gardens. It was amazing, only I didn't get a chance to catch many pictures of the butterflies. The Sound of Emily's Music

So, I was just going through my Easter pictures and came across my sister playing the piano. This easter we had 2 Grandparents, 3 Sisters (or aunties) 1 brother -in-law and 3 dogs visit our humble abode. LOL, we were busting at the seams. :-)
It was awesome to have us all together though since amongst us all there are 4 different states that we reside in.
Any ways, since we were young, all 4 of us girls took piano lessons, don't recall if my brother did or not. Any how, Emily continued on with the piano as she was the last to live at my Dad's, where the piano is. In my opinion, she's amazing. And if I had the time to practice,would love to be as talented as she is. Here's a little clip that I took of her visit. The lighting isn't the best by any means, but notice my 2 little loves dancing around like little sprites. LOL, they have such great chi. Em, didn't want me to record her, as you can tell in the second clip when she finds out, I had to turn it off. But at least I did get some footage.

By the way, I know I'm a little late blogging about Easter and all, but let me just tell you all that it Snowed here on Easter. Errgghh... I hate to say it, but I was actually a little mad. I usually don't get upset if it snows, although I don't care for the snow. But on Easter? Come on... So, my hubbie took the kids out to build a snow man. Not soon after, as the sun was setting, I ran out to snap a photo.

ooohh.. scary snowman. They LOVE scary things. It should've been the halloween snowman w/his red fire ball eyes. Which by the way, we bought these prestuffed Easter eggs, they were really cute; painted like bugs an all. However, the candy was the worste EVER!

Giggle Bugs Kit & Exciting News

Thank you so much for visiting my new site.

So here's the Exciting news for me and my kids.
We are planning a trip back to my home state - Utah. I haven't been back in 3 years, and you know how quick kids grow. My family totally misses them.
I have so many old friends to see, but the most exciting part of all, is to see Marta. Marta is my dearest friend who moved to Italy 7 years ago and I haven't seen her since. She will be visiting Utah at the same time! I am so happy! Who knows when my next chance to see her will be? And this will be the first time for her to meet my kiddos.

So, the trip will be this Summer, and I am going put all of my earnings made from the Blog towards it. So, if you like a kit, make a purchase and help me out. I have 3 plane tickets to purchase this time around. As my little one is no longer a toddler.

Giggle Bugs
Here is the new set I made. It's called Giggle Bugs, I hope you like it. I will be posting another freebie that coordinates with it. Hopefully I can get that together in the next few days. I'm going to be really busy, I have a Physiology exam to study for and I'm coaching my daughters Odyssey of the Mind team. Competition is on the 15th and we only have 2 practices left.

There are so many elements and 19 papers to this kit. I think that the price of $6 is fair. How about you gals? - Let me know.

My favorite feature is the "Make Your Own Butterfly" Folder. It comes packed with lose wings and bodies, and an antenna. Pick a color, or layer them for a cute look.
